Jeff Newton obtained his Masters Degree from Christian Theological Seminary in Marriage and Family Therapy, 2016. He began his residency work with Chrysalis Connections Counseling and Family Relationship Center in February 2017 and recently received his credentialing as a licensed marriage and family therapist associate having passed the national MFT examination. His areas of interest in counseling includes, individual, couple and family issues. His background of experience includes work with grief and loss, premarital, marital couple work as well as individual work. Jeff is also able to connect with parents who are experiencing difficulties with emotional disconnection, infidelity, and differences in parenting styles.
One staple in life is that storms do sweep across our personal and family landscapes. It would be nice if we could insulate our lives from these storms however it is these very situations that unleash something more powerful – the capacity to be more than we ever thought we could be!
My experience in being a minister for over 32 years has taught me the resiliency of people. Walking with people in both their struggles and successes continues to impress me about the power of hope when it is restored. My philosophy about this hope is twofold. There are amazing possibilities when we, first of all, view life through the creation of strong relationships and secondly, by building a strategy with the focus upon solutions instead of problems.
I see my role as a collaborative agent who joins people in uncovering what has been hidden or shifted by life’s storms. Personal experience met my counseling training and produced an even greater appreciation of how hope uncovered, not only can be restored but can be robust.
